High Mile Heroes Privacy

This page explains what information High Mile Heroes collects, why it is collected, and how to ask for an entry to be corrected or removed.

Who Runs High Mile Heroes

High Mile Heroes is a small editorial/project website connected to Geoff Buys Cars. If you have any privacy questions or want a submission updated or removed, contact highmileheros@gmail.com.

What We Collect

When you submit a car, we may collect your name, email address, location, car details, story details, photo upload reference, uploaded image details, and your answers about publication permission.

Why We Collect It

We use this information to review submissions, contact you if needed, and publish approved entries on the High Mile Heroes website or related Geoff Buys Cars content where permission has been given.

Lawful Basis

Where you choose to send us a submission, the main basis for using that information is your consent and our legitimate interest in reviewing, curating, and publishing reader submissions for the project. If you later want your details or public entry changed or removed, email us and we will review that request.

What Goes Public

Only approved entries that have permission to be published are shown on the public website. Private contact details such as email addresses are not intended for publication.

Photos

If you upload a photo, only send images you have permission to share publicly. Approved public entries may show that image on the website and store its hosted image URL in the project workflow.

Where Data Is Stored

Submission and moderation data are stored in project tools such as Google Forms, Google Sheets, Google Apps Script, and Cloudinary for image hosting. These services are used so submissions can be collected, matched to uploaded photos, reviewed, and published.

Anonymous Usage Analytics

The site may use a lightweight first-party analytics tool to count page views and button clicks so the project can understand which parts of the site are being used. This is intended to operate without cookies and without collecting submission contents such as names, emails or stories.

How Long It Is Kept

Submission information may be kept while the project is active unless you ask for it to be corrected or removed.

Your Rights

If you are in the UK or EU, data protection law may give you rights including access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection, and complaint to a supervisory authority. For practical project requests, the best first step is to email highmileheros@gmail.com.
